The Skateboard Mag
The Skateboard Mag Issue # 141
Issue #141's cover sets the stage for a mind-bending trip through different eras. Your first thought may be "Is this C.G.?" but we can assure you the "Dogfight" feature (written by C.R. Stecyk III, with photos by Arto Saari) is all real: The collaboration is an homage to WWI aerial feats, present-day aerial feet, expressive bravery, period costuming, and lovingly produced backdrops. We hop back in our time machine to reappraise 1995, reflecting on the trends and skaters that defined this seminal year in Skateboarding. This is the year that etnies released the classic skate video posse cut, High 5, and with the news that etnies is currently producing a full-length, we catch up with the team in "The Twenty Year Itch". The Dwindle #FYTOUR turned heads this summer as Cliche, Zero, Almost, and enjoi rolled through towns all over the U.S. Jimmy Carlin chimes in about the experience in our "In Mixed Company" feature. Get to know a (very) young man with a bright future as we Introduce you to C.J. Collins. Though most of us won't have the opportunity to visit the most exotic skate destinations in the world, you can depend on CONS to send their team (including not one but TWO Andersons) far and wide for our vicarious enjoyment; CONS takes us to explore the historic nooks and crannies of Taiwan for an extended stay. Just be sure to make it back in time for issue #142.
